U Shein Sayargyi was born on Oct. 7 1926 in Pylulwin/Myanmar.
When U Shein was 16 he was drawn in to the army, where he stayed for the next 20 years. During his military career he suffered from different severe injuries at his calf, knee and thigh. The blast of a hand grenade seriously injured his hands and due to the lead poison he became unable to move and use his fingers and hands. In this hopeless and dangerous situation, one night he had a dream which changed his life radically. His sister from a previous live appeared and advised him to visit a hermit, who lived in a cave. The hermit transmitted his wisdom and his supernatural powers to U Shein. He taught him to heal persons who are possessed by evil powers or spirits, called Payoga. U Shein describes the meeting: This was the beginning of a completely new life for U Shein. First he worked as a Payoga healer, that means healing people who have problems in this live due to karmic burdens or guilt from a former live or who are possessed by spirits. In dreams and visions he received precise instructions to prepare a special alchemical medicine, "Gold-Ash-Powder" in a long and complicated process. The "philosopher's stone" which is indispensable for the production he received from his devas. With his help, he could cure himself of his suffering. Since then, the process of production changed and developed significantly by more visions and instructions of his spiritual helpers or Devas, (see also the production of "Gold-Ash-Powder"). In Yangon, in a quiet neighbourhood U Shein has installed a temple - totally unassuming from the outside. People from all over the country come here for advice and to be healed of mental and physical sufferings. But not only the Burmese know about U Sheen’s extraordinary abilities. Also from other Asian countries such as Thailand, China, Singapore, Japan, and even from Europe, people come here because they ask for healing by U Shein. In Germany and Austria U Shein attended three times in an international conference on traditional healing methods. Because of the healing success with Gold Ash Powder, he was awarded in 2006 by the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka as a doctor of natural medicine. In 5 cities in Myanmar U Shein founded clinics that are run by his students. A group set up to assist and promotes him and his work. It is called A-MA-YA-SA group, which means "The Great Medical Group." There are about 100,000 registered members, including doctors, professors, businessmen and entrepreneurs from around the world, such as Switzerland, Thailand, Japan, and Hong Kong.
